Art Lab offers creative workshops introducing STEM concepts and topics to children, young people and families. Our workshops often link to exhibitions shown in the STEAM gallery, highlighting the importance of creativity combined with STEM.
Children naturally embody creativity and curiosity so they are right at home in our Art Lab. Our creative side has lots of fun making things whether it be from clay, card or code – our curiosity ignites as we discover amazing facts about STEM topics and the world around us.
As Picasso said, “Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up.” Here at Art Lab we are all about encouraging and nurturing a lifelong creative journey.
We subscribe to the 7 Cs of confidence, curiosity, collaboration, communication, creativity, commitment and craftsmanship. These qualities are critical to equip young people with the skills and resilience to innovate and develop in their future lives and careers.
Another important part of our work is signposting children and young people to future study and careers in the STEM sectors, with pathways and opportunities highlighted throughout our sessions.
Every now and again, Art Lab likes to pack a trunk full of exciting tech, wondrous gizmos and curious contraptions and hit the road. We’re a friendly bunch who are able to pop up at various venues and enthuse all ages about Science-Tech-Engineering-Art-Maths
We are able to deliver Arts Award accreditation in our projects from Discover to Gold Level.
