STEAM Saturdays

                                      STEAM Saturdays are back with new activities to enjoy! 

Code Club for ages 8 – 13
10.30am  – 12.00pm

Learn to code by working on projects using easy to follow, step-by-step guides to learn Scratch, HTML & CSS, and Python by making games, animations, and websites. Young people work at their own pace supported by our volunteers to begin their journey into code! Places are limited to 12 and are offered on a first come first served basis.

Afternoon Drop in sessions 

For families and young people wanting to get creative together, experiment with digital technology, hack with Raspberry Pi or just enjoy getting messy and making something in our fully equipped Makerspace. There’s also the opportunity to complete your Bronze Idea Award by completing a series of online challenges. You can work independently on your own projects or with our team to create animations, solve engineering challenges and get creative with our 3D printers and laser cutter.

No booking required, £3.00 per child – Accompanied adults are free 😊

Draw Bots – we’ll be making our own Robots to draw and create as amazing designs and patterns in this interactive engineering challenge.

20th October

Light up Lanterns – join us to make laser cut light up lanterns as part of the Wigan and Leigh Light Night Celebrations. You’ll be able to take your lantern home after the parade on 28th October.

17th November

UX Designers – we’ll be spending the afternoon thinking creatively to become User Experience Designers to solve problems, designing products and respond to challenges

15th December

Circuit makers – Ever wondered how electricity lights up our lives? Make your Christmas sparkle with light up Christmas cards and decorations to take home as we kick off the Christmas celebrations with this twinkle tastic LED circuit workshop
