We are currently looking to grow our team of fantastic volunteers. They offer us invaluable support in delivering our growing programme of exhibitions, workshops, and other creative events and activities.
There are lots of opportunities to get to get involved, including supporting event promotion, assisting with the installing and take down of exhibitions, photographing events, helping to develop engagement materials, planning workshops and lots more.
We want all of our volunteer team to gain valuable skills and experience from their time with us, so instead of offering regular volunteer days or shifts, we match volunteers with specific activities and tasks they can really get involved with! We don’t offer formal work placements but are happy to support students with volunteer opportunities.
There are several areas that you can get involved with:
Assist with the upkeep of the gallery space
Install and take down exhibitions
Assist in developing engagement materials to sit alongside exhibitions
Assist with the planning and delivery of workshops
Distribute printed promotional material
Support the team on the production of events – prepare drinks, welcome visitors etc.
Collect feedback from visitors
Photographing events and workshops to be used for marketing material (this would be most suitable to a photography students looking to build their portfolio)
Depending upon the nature of the activity, we may ask that you present a DBS certificate. This will apply if the activity you are looking to participate in will involve working directly with children and vulnerable people. You may be eligible for a free DBS check as a volunteer, check here for more details:
